About The Position

As a Manufacturing Cost Accountant, you will assist in developing and maintaining integrated financial systems to provide accurate information in a timely manner. You will also help develop strong internal controls and appropriate measures to ensure the integrity of reporting and focus on the continuous improvement of all financial work processes. This position works onsite at the plant in Logan, Utah.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • 3+ years' work experience, preferably 2+ year of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Familiarity with word-processing, graphics, flowcharts or other software
  • Curiosity in leveraging technology and automation to improve processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive process improvements
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance (at least state minimum- more might be required), acceptable driving record per Schreiber Foods discretion, and vehicle that will ensure applicant can meet the travel necessities of the position are required.
  • Schreiber requires that an employee have authorization to work in the country in which the role is based. In the event, an applicant does not have current work authorization, Schreiber will determine, in its sole discretion, whether to sponsor an individual for work authorization. However, based on immigration requirements, not all roles are suitable for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting in the development and maintenance of accurate product costs and analyses for new products.
  • Auditing and maintaining accurate costs within the cost system.
  • Ensuring that product cost changes are effectively communicated.
  • Facilitate establishing systems, processes and procedures to collect and record data required for internal and external reporting. This includes maintaining accruate inventory, charging costs to the general ledger, determining appropriate accruals, assisting in explanations for period results, and maintain a strong system of internal controls.
  • Provide appropriate financial analysis for planned capital expenditures and ensure accurate recording of fixed assets in the fixet asset system.
  • Supporting and completing bi-weekly milk reconciliations with suppliers and monthly milk reporting for external customers.
  • Contributing in the development of a culture that thrives on continuous improvement and the development of knowledge and skills.
  • May be required to perform other job-related tasks.
