About The Position

The Manufacturing Coordinator for Beech-Nut Nutrition Company reports to the Manufacturing Manager and is responsible for supporting supply chain team initiatives focused on business operational goals in safety, quality, cost (waste, efficiency, defects), and training. This position is instrumental in facilitating an associate-oriented, high-performance workplace culture and championing continuous development. The role provides backup support to Production Supervisors across all shifts, requiring flexibility in adapting to varying schedules. It offers valuable training and development opportunities, preparing the candidate for potential growth into a supervisory position. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with managers, supervisors, planners, engineers, and hourly employees to achieve these goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred and 2 years of experience in related field.
  • Technical ability to work within a highly complex and dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Practical experience with Lean principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional analytic, organization, tracking, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and follow written instructions.
  • Ability to work as part of a larger cross-functional team and/or the ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, good manufacturing practices, and general safety best practices in an industrial environment.
  • Experience in administering and working with a cloud-based learning management system (LMS).
  • Strong data analytic, data mining, and data manipulation and data storytelling skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Helps to develop and maintain individual learning and development plans and records for all associates.
  • Provides weekly support to the supply chain team with a list of new and existing personnel that are in-progress and/or have completed required learning.
  • Helps ensure learning programs and initiatives are compliant with company goals and state, federal, and industry rules and regulations in partnership with Operations, Quality, Safety and Human Resources.
  • Continuously reviews, with Operations Managers, Operations documents, including Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to ensure training documents are up to date.
  • Maintains the skills matrix to participate in planning learning and development activities to understand process and skill gaps.
  • Delivers on-the-job training, guidance, and support to associates, identifying developmental needs of individuals and the team.
  • Works collaboratively with engineering and maintenance to improve production and quality of products.
  • Provides clear and effective communication with team members, management, and other key stakeholders to align efforts with business objectives.
  • Plans/directs production activities and establishes production priorities in pursuit of effective operations cost reduction.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality, and operational reports to determine the cause of nonconformity and operating/production problems.
  • Develops and executes operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate downtime and improve product quality.
  • Develops, implements, and visually displays manufacturing KPIs to track performance.
  • Participates in planning and coordinating Kaizen Board activities to support continuous improvement in Manufacturing Excellence.
  • Coordinates Townhall Meetings, ensuring clear communication of dates, agenda, and necessary materials.
  • Provides backup support to Manufacturing Coordinator in adjusting personnel schedules as needed.
  • Provides backup support to Production Supervisors, assisting in production supervision across all shifts as needed.
  • Ensures associate compliance with company policies, regulations, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Sets priorities and directs the work of associates while addressing any challenges they may face to ensure efficient operations.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
