About The Position

Primus Aerospace is seeking a driven, detail-oriented student for a Manufacturing Co-op focused on aerospace component manufacturing. The role provides hands-on exposure to tight-tolerance machining, quality systems, and lean manufacturing in an AS9100-certified environment. The co-op involves working alongside experienced professionals and supporting manufacturing engineering and production activities.

This is a full-time hourly role scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and is open to students for Spring 2027. Preferred majors are Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents to comply with U.S. Government international trade regulations. Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Strong initiative and willingness to work on the production floor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and basic computer applications.
• Effective problem-solving and time-management skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred major in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing engineers and machinists in optimizing setups.
• Develop and document manufacturing processes and suggest improvements for efficiency and safety.
• Help design assembly fixtures that can be made in-house or 3D printed.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
• Help implement lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, visual management, waste elimination, and scrap reduction.
• Create and update work instructions to meet AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, quality, and operations.
