Requirements

  • Understand oral and written procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to use a 30X scope.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and software such as SAP MII.
  • Ability to locate information in QMS and on the Kennametal Intranet.
  • Ability to handle inserts with fingers without chipping.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Possess mechanical skills to rebuild and replace furnace components.
  • Ability to read and understand operating procedures, defect criteria, and routing information.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform necessary actions in emergency situations, such as gas leaks.
  • Commitment to working safely and understanding all safety procedures.
  • Follow inspection control plan, ensuring product is processed according to routings and specifications.
  • Meet daily departmental production goals.
  • Be reliable and dependable.
  • Communicate safety, quality, and product issues with supervisors, team members, and across shifts.
  • Employees are required to become Hazmat trained.
  • Will be required to pass a Respirator Medical Evaluation.
  • Must obtain clearance from the Department of Homeland Security to work in CVD department.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency reached through on the job training in twelve (12) to eighteen (18) months.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload furnaces.
  • Monitor computerized controls for temperatures, pressures, chemical flow rates, and gas flow rates.
  • Perform and document furnace operations.
  • Ensure the integrity of vacuum systems through leak checks and preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot furnace problems, including rebuilding or replacing components.
  • Maintain adequate gas and chemical levels for correct operations.
  • Replace tanks as needed.
  • Set up and separate product.
  • Enter quality data by furnace and heat results, and monitor graph results.
  • Act as an Emergency Responder within the Coating Department.
