About The Position

C/A Design, Inc., part of the Heico Companies, is a leader in the Brazing industry, providing custom engineered cooling solutions. With a new state-of-the-art facility in Exeter, New Hampshire, the company is focused on high precision manufacturing for the aerospace and defense industry, with a mission to protect the Warfighter. This role is crucial for leading a manufacturing cell within this advanced facility.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of varied engineering and/or manufacturing leadership experience in a complex manufacturing organization.
  • Previous supervisory experience with direct labor reports is required.
  • Proven track record of delivering cost reductions, efficiency gains, and waste elimination using problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN).
  • Ability to effectively assign and delegate tasks and influence team performance is required.
  • Proficiency using MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for communication, data collection, analysis, and presentation is required.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas simply and effectively is required.
  • A safety focused mindset and the ability to influence a work-safe culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors or Associates level degree in a science major is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming & machinery along with familiarity with brazing technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with operational metrics (key performance indicators) and employee performance / talent management is desired.
  • Previous experience using an ERP system (Oracle, SAP, Infor, ECI Jobboss / E2) is highly desired.
  • Experience with TPS lean-management principles including lean daily management, machine setup reduction, manufacturing process-flow, visual shop-floor management, and continuous improvement is highly desired.
  • Understanding of ASME Y14.5 drawing interpretation is highly desired.
  • Experience working within an AS9100 aerospace and defense is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the on-time delivery of machined parts and post-brazed assemblies from the CNC machining department.
  • Maximize labor efficiency, labor effectiveness, and machine utilization through effective work assignments and scheduling.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of equipment, processes, capabilities, and constraints within the assigned area, and make decisions to eliminate constraints and exploit opportunities.
  • Ensure employees follow company policies and procedures regarding manufacturing, quality, safety, and 5s standards.
  • Perform administrative supervisory tasks including weekly payroll approvals, scheduling employee time-off, designing individual goals, and completing annual evaluations.
  • Maintain a daily understanding of job statuses for key customer orders within the department and estimated completion times.
  • Communicate and escalate maintenance, manufacturing process, and component quality issues to the appropriate departments for problem-solving.
  • Support and empower assigned employees, providing guidance on leadership and personnel performance to maximize individual and departmental performance.
  • Facilitate, organize, and support lean daily management initiatives to track and report performance across personnel, output, safety, quality, and maintenance.
  • Address and escalate production, equipment, and personnel-related issues as necessary.
