The Manufacturing Associate role involves operating and monitoring machinery in a production environment. Key responsibilities include setting up equipment according to specific procedures, reading factory orders, and ensuring quality throughout the production process by monitoring and adjusting machinery. The role also requires accurate use of gauges and test equipment, working near electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical energy sources, and adhering to Lock Out/Tag Out procedures. Basic shop math and inspection skills are necessary. Additionally, the associate will be responsible for cleaning functions such as blowing down machines, wiping shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the work area, and managing scrap. This position requires the ability to work off-shifts, specifically the afternoon (3 pm to 11 pm) and midnight (11 pm to 7 am) shifts. A stable work history and reliable transportation are essential. The job entails regular standing, walking, and talking or hearing. Frequent use of hands for tasks like fingering, handling, and feeling, as well as reaching with hands and arms, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling are expected. Occasional sitting may occur. The role requires regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are necessary. The work environment is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and frequently to wet and/or humid conditions. Occasional exposure to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration is possible. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Performance will be measured by operating standards (quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction, productivity), personal growth, and employee relations (human interaction, respect, communication).
