Manufacturing Associate - Grind
About The Position
This position requires a knowledge of basic material handling methods to ensure a quality product is delivered to all customers. Work requires a high school diploma or equivalent. The role involves collaborating across departments to ensure welded steel members are staged correctly for processing, utilizing overhead cranes and occasionally forklifts to move parts. The associate will also support continuous improvement initiatives, participate in team building, provide feedback, and promote a positive work environment while adhering to all company procedures and policies. Safety, efficiency, and customer focus are paramount.
Requirements
- Knowledge of basic material handling methods.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems.
- Able to read blue prints.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Must be open-minded to new ideas and concepts.
- Possesses very good problem-solving skills.
- Must be self-motivated and results oriented.
- Safe and efficient material handling to minimize damage.
- Accuracy and completeness of deliverable materials to customers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates across departments to ensure welded steel members are staged correctly for processing.
- Utilizes overhead cranes to move parts.
- Occasionally uses forklift to transfer parts.
- Continuous improvement in support of department and company goals.
- Supports, participates and encourages team building.
- Provides feedback, both positive and negative, to the team, other related departments and the supervisor.
- Promotes a positive work environment.
- Follow all of Porter Corp’s procedures and policies.
- Work safely and efficiently.
- Stay customer focused.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
