About The Position

Clack Corporation, a privately held company established over 70 years ago, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of water treatment components and drinking water products, as well as specialized custom blow molding products. We are looking for a 3rd shift Assistant Supervisor (Lead person) with a strong leadership background to join our team. The work hours on 3rd shift will be Sunday night-Thursday night 10pm-6:30am.

Requirements

  • Intermediate mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing and assembly required.
  • Can perform basic shop math including percentages and ratios.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 45 pounds and maneuver 55-gallon drums with assistance.
  • Must be able to wear PPE-shoulder length gloves, respirator, face shield, rubber (butyl) gloves,
  • Able to work around and with fiberglass and other resin components. Not allergic.
  • Extended standing.
  • Able to work around and handle chemicals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to safely use jig saw and saber saw for cutting up tanks.
  • Licensed forklift operator.
  • Ability to establish priorities as needed.
  • Ability to evaluate process and equipment and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to operate industrial PC for machine control.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and safety practices, including hazardous waste management practices.
  • Excellent attendance record.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising production operations for winding of tanks to assure that production schedules, quality specifications, company policies and procedures along with housekeeping and safety standards are met.
  • Help supervise tank winding staff and administers company policies, work rules, safety practices and housekeeping standards.
  • Understand and follow through with meeting daily production schedule needs.
  • Assures Tank Winding quality practices are met.
  • Provides first line technical resources for the shift.
  • Train and mentor shift staff to increase skills/versatility.
  • Direct and perform all aspects of production and assembly activities in tank winding as necessary.
  • Perform process monitoring/adjustment within specific limits (process, equipment, and product).
  • Prepare and print labels as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust equipment during production operations.
  • Able to set up, tear down and clean up all process equipment per engineering process specifications.
  • Performs complex fault analysis (process and equipment).
  • Perform pre-process, in-process and post-process inspection both visual and functional to meet QC requirements.
  • Assures corporate ISO policies and procedures are met.
  • Participates in process improvement, including implementation of process enhancement efforts.
  • Perform incoming inspection on variety of supplied/purchased components, including utilizing Excel spreadsheets for data collection/analysis.
  • Provide intermediate level of preventive and corrective maintenance of winding tools and fixturing to include mechanical troubleshooting as necessary to sustain production activities.
  • Provide necessary material handling of product, components, and packaging.
  • Assures proper disposal of tested products and/or scrapped products/materials.
  • Arranges transportation of injured/ill employees to assure proper medical treatment.
  • Perform daily entry of production data.
  • Conducts bi-monthly employee meetings and attend required management meetings/training.
  • Compile and report weekly scrap.
  • Routinely interface with other shifts/departments to support Tank Winding goals.
  • Perform assigned non-production tasks.
  • Complete performance reviews for shift personnel.
  • Act as back-up for manufacturing engineer when required.
  • Motivate/train associates to maximize productivity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
