This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. Summary HII, Mission Technologies is looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Technician 2 for their Syracuse, NY Manufacturing Operations. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. You will also support the daily activities of the production line and/or processing areas and help build long-term capability within the Manufacturing Organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of related manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, part lists, connection diagrams, schematics, engineering sketches.
  • Ability to work with standardized procedures for high repeatability in an advanced and connected environment.
  • IPC-610, IPC-620, and IPC-J-STD-001 certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work both in a team and individually.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • May be required to obtain a DoD secret level clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in mechanical assembly and installation of electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies as required.
  • Working with other team members in assembly and integration of new and existing products.
  • Deliver work according to quality requirements and work instructions.
  • Adhere to processes and procedures to meet business and program objectives.
  • Analyzing and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Experience using hand tools such as drills, torque wrenches, wire cutters, wire strippers & crimpers.
  • Identify and resolve tasks independently.
  • Follow ESD principles and safeguarding practices.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
