About The Position

Inside the Role Chassis Manufacturing/Process Engineer will work individually, and with a group, and have a focus on integration of new designs into Manufacturing plants, this role is heavy integrated into both product projects as well as non product projects.

Requirements

  • BS/BA and prefer 2 years of relevant experience or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Team oriented professional with strong problem solving and communication skills; ability to perform well within a team based atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principals (5s, CI, process mapping, Kaizen, PDCA, visual management)
  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Travel within the US and Mexico (25% on Average)
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country the position is located in at the time of application
  • Final candidate must successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Final candidate may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of NX, AutoCAD and /or SolidWorks is preferred
  • Degree Focus in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management
  • Knowledge and application of basic mechanical, electrical and industrial engineering principles preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide manufacturing expertise and support in component assembly, vehicle assembly, vehicle operations, and various manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and provide engineering expertise in integrating workforce, equipment, systems, processes, methods, materials and facilities into a cohesive, cost-efficient and productive system.
  • Participate in System Development Teams (SDT) on New Product Development Projects representing Manufacturing Engineering and Truck Manufacturing Plants.
  • Through concurrent engineering and Production oriented design (POD), identify and resolve production-related problems ahead of implementations into the plants.
  • Provide on-site tryout and pre-series coverage for New Product Introduction (NPI) vehicle builds and provide feedback, root cause analysis, and problem resolution support.
  • Develop, procure, and install equipment/fixtures/tools at five DTNA Truck Manufacturing Plants.
  • Identify, analyze and recommend opportunities to reduce cost and increase efficiencies of manufacturing operations.
  • Evaluate current assembly processes and assess capital investment plans for future production requirements.
