About The Position

Acron Aviation designs, engineers, and manufactures certified avionics systems that support safety-critical flight operations across commercial and military aviation. Within Avionics, the Displays product line develops and sustains advanced cockpit display systems that provide pilots with the critical information needed to navigate, monitor aircraft systems, and make informed decisions in complex operating environments. Our portfolio includes primary flight displays, multi-function displays, engine indication and crew alerting systems (EICAS), mission displays, and integrated cockpit visualization solutions deployed across commercial, military, and rotorcraft platforms. This work is performed in highly regulated environments and demands deep expertise in avionics systems, hardware and software development, human factors engineering, certification, and safety-critical product design. We currently seek an Assembler who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and is developing toward full proficiency in the assembly of aerospace and avionics products. This position is part of the Acron Avionics Business Unit and will be located in Grand Rapids, MI. The role requires the selected candidate to work on site during assigned shift hours. The Entry-Level Assembler performs production work using established processes, builds proficiency across multiple assembly operations, identifies straightforward issues, and supports safe, compliant, high-quality, and on-time execution of the daily production plan.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of relevant assembly, electronics, manufacturing, or related experience; OR a two-year post-secondary/associate degree with 0 to 2 years of related experience.
Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, drawings, specifications, and standard work.
Ability to use required basic hand tools safely and demonstrate basic computer skills.
Ability to complete work-order transactions in SAP or learn required ERP transactions.
Ability to obtain and maintain J-STD and IPC-A-610 certification, as applicable.
Ability to work on site during assigned shift hours and meet the physical requirements of the role.

Nice To Haves

Experience in aerospace, avionics, electronics, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
Prior experience using SAP or another ERP system.
Current J-STD, IPC-A-610, or related workmanship certification.
Experience participating in 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

Assemble electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical products and subassemblies in accordance with approved work instructions, drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
Use required hand tools, fixtures, equipment, and basic computer applications safely and correctly.
Complete assigned work orders and production documentation accurately in SAP or other approved manufacturing systems.
Support the daily production plan while maintaining established safety, quality, delivery, and productivity expectations.
Identify material, tooling, documentation, equipment, or process issues and promptly communicate barriers that may affect schedule execution.
Follow controlled work instructions, standard work, inspection requirements, and applicable quality system procedures.
Perform in-process verification and workmanship checks within authorized scope.
Identify and segregate nonconforming material or product and escalate quality concerns through established processes.
Maintain accurate traceability, configuration, and manufacturing records in a regulated aerospace environment.
Follow all safety requirements and immediately report unsafe conditions.
Maintain clean, organized, and efficient work areas in accordance with 5S standards.
Protect tools, equipment, materials, and product from damage, contamination, or loss.
Participate in workplace organization and incremental improvement activities.
Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and support functions.
Participate in daily Tier 1 meetings, problem-solving activities, cross-training, and Just Do It improvements.
Provide practical feedback on work instructions, tooling, material presentation, and assembly methods.
Demonstrate ownership for assigned work, reliable attendance, and timely escalation of issues.
Perform routinely assigned work under general to limited supervision as proficiency is demonstrated.
Apply established procedures to identify straightforward problems, resolve issues within training and authorization, and escalate unresolved conditions.
Build cross-training capability across assigned assembly processes, with a development target progressing from approximately 25% toward 50% of the area skill matrix.
Serve as an informal resource to peers in demonstrated areas of proficiency when requested.
