About The Position

Rendezvous Robotics is solving the problem of spacecraft size constraints within rocket fairings by developing electromagnetic self-assembling tiles. These modular spacecraft components can rendezvous, dock, and latch to assemble larger and more powerful spacecraft. The company is based in Golden, Colorado, and is focused on a clear path from flight demonstration to operational systems, with work spanning hardware, software, and systems engineering. They are seeking individuals passionate about building the next generation of advanced spacecraft.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Comfortable with hand tools, basic soldering, and hardware assembly
  • Attention to detail and comfort working from written test procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with battery pack assembly or handling lithium-ion cells
  • Familiarity with environmental test equipment (thermal chambers, vibration tables)
  • Background in test automation or data logging (Python, LabVIEW, or similar)
  • Quality or manufacturing process experience, even outside aerospace

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own testbeds used to manufacture and test the different subsystems including power, docking, and communication interfaces
  • Support manufacturing of spacecraft tiles, creating work procedures and finding optimizations.
  • Build and refine fixtures and test jigs for repeatable hardware verification
  • Track and troubleshoot manufacturing defects, feeding findings back into design
  • Help build out test data pipelines so results are captured consistently across builds
