About The Position

MTSI is seeking a seasoned Manufacturing/Production Engineer with strong Quality Assurance expertise to support high‑visibility defense manufacturing programs. The ideal candidate brings more than a decade of engineering, operations, or program management experience within aerospace, automotive, or other complex production environments. This role focuses on driving quality, producibility, affordability, and lean manufacturing excellence while supporting new product introduction efforts. We are looking for a collaborative, data‑savvy engineering professional who thrives in fast‑paced, high‑stakes production settings and can partner effectively with industry and government stakeholders. Candidates must possess an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and a solid foundation in quality systems, RCCA, and manufacturing best practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ yrs of Engineering, Operations, and/or Program Management experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally from aerospace, automotive, or comparable industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of Quality/Assurance, Producibility, Affordability, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in quality control methodologies (AS9100/9102), Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), and risk management frameworks, ideally in a manufacturing environment within aerospace, automotive, or comparable industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge defense acquisition or federal programs.
  • Capable of communicating to various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to distill large amounts of manufacturing/quality data into digestible formats for a broad audience.
  • Must be collaborative and capable of developing and maintaining good working relationships with both prime/sub-tier contactors and government partners.
  • Ability to have direct and candid conversations, focused on fostering partnerships that facilitate mission success.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing/production with ability to manage competing priorities in a high-stakes environment with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to support intermittent travel to subcontractor locations as needed to support mission achievement.
  • Active Top-Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
  • Equivalent military or professional experience may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with New Product Launch (NPI) initiatives is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Resource Programs (MRP), operational aircraft maintenance, manufacturing, logistics elements, or integrated quality management systems is desirable.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM/OE), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or ASQ-certified inspector credentials.
