About The Position

Vishay Dale Electronics in Columbus, NE is seeking applicants for a Manual Winder on their Weekend Shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday 3:30am-4:00pm). Overtime is available as needed. The role is responsible for producing Vishay products that meet and exceed quality and customer expectations. Vishay manufactures a vast portfolio of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components essential for innovative designs across various markets including automotive, industrial, computing, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, and medical. The company is a Fortune 1,000 entity listed on the NYSE (VSH) and is one of the largest employers in the Columbus Area with approximately 600 employees at the Columbus, NE facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Requires the use of judgment in the analysis of facts and circumstances surrounding individual processes or operations and in the determination of actions to be taken within the limits of standard or accepted practices.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in performance of duties.
  • Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to assure proper set-up and identify and make decisions regarding quality of work.
  • Three months to one year training in the application of a range of complex or automated machinery, equipment, and processes.
  • Must qualify as a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15, due to access to information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery for welding, winding, and testing specified turns of wire onto a resistor sub-assembly to achieve a specified resistance value.
  • Receive capped ceramic sub-assemblies, wire, and production orders from a Material Handler.
  • Turn on machines and computers.
  • Place the correct wire on the spindle and thread it through the machine.
  • Enter correct winding parameters and order information into the computer, including wire width, value, tolerance, thickness, and ohms per foot of the wire.
  • Load trays/reels of capped ceramic sub-assemblies into each machine.
