The machinists in the organization help replace AHU bearings, they manufacture sheet metal components, shafts, operating room doors. We are looking for someone who can manufacture metal parts, someone who is creative and knows how to problem solve. A caregiver in this role works evenings from 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. with rotating weekend requirements. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Maintain, repair, or replace mechanical parts, as needed, on electrical motors, and on fans of air handling equipment; modifies or alters air handling equipment as necessary. Perform prototype and fabrication work. Maintain, repair, or replace mechanical equipment used in hospital treatment and care areas to include O.R. tables, lights, beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables, and other mechanical equipment used in patient-care areas. Assemble, disassemble, or reassemble metal furniture, shelving, lockers, and other metal furnishings. Perform metal repair as needed.

Requirements

  • Completion of four years' apprenticeship for Machinist or knowledge obtained through four years of on-the-job training experience as a Machinist
  • Three years of experience as machinist/mechanic, one year of which machinist experience must have been in an industrial, commercial, or institutional setting
