Requirements

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent
  • Two (2+) years minimum of experience operating mills and lathes with repair work on larger parts or aerospace components with open setup experience.
  • Demonstrable experience with a broad array of manual machining equipment and non-digital precision measuring devices
  • Proficient at reading blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Able to machine parts to within 0.0005” tolerance
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic shop math
  • Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Must exhibit a high level of confidentiality with work product
  • Must have a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work any shift
  • This position is safety sensitive and adheres to DOT drug and alcohol regulations
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate expertise with all manual equipment (mills and lathes) within the machine shop including set up and operation, as well as basic preventative maintenance
  • Perform thread repairs, boring, facing, and general machining operations
  • Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gages, indicators)
  • Hold tight tolerances (±.0005 or as required)
  • Fabricate tooling in support of in-house production needs
  • Fabricate bushings
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure quality standards are met
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering plans, and other technical data
  • Requisite and maintain raw materials and tools
  • Coordinate with and support shop lead and team as necessary to meet production deadlines
  • Keep work area clean
  • Other duties as assigned
