About The Position

This is a full-time position for an experienced Manual Machinist in Conroe, TX. The role involves setting up and operating various machine tools to perform precision machining operations on new and rework parts. The machinist will be responsible for ensuring components meet strict quality standards, maintaining a safe work environment, and completing necessary paperwork.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of position-related education in a job-shop setting.
Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical drawings required.
Demonstrated understanding of basic math skills required.
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, veneers, and calipers) as required.

Responsibilities

Set up and operation of lathes and mills using machine tools; lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders to perform precision machining operations on new and rework parts.
Read blueprints, calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers or calipers.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
Hold tolerances within .0001”.
Ensure all components are properly de-burred, cleaned, and free from foreign material.
Inspect parts for conformance to requirements holding close tolerances and maximum efficiencies.
Confer with supervisory or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with Company’s procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
Complete paperwork to maintain records, fill out inspection reports, and follow department standards.
Work independently.
Perform other duties as required.
