About The Position

Under minimal supervision, set up, tend, and operate manually controlled lathe, drill press, vertical mill and/or swaging machines. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, using gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements, and utilizing precision tools, machinery, and equipment. The machinist will be responsible for properly selecting, aligning, securing, and removing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines. Additionally, they will perform inspections of machined products, complete and maintain paperwork, and perform basic troubleshooting as required. Compliance with ISO requirements, regulations, quality policies, and other instructions is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk (on concrete surfaces), bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and lift to perform repetitive movements
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull objects up to 35 pounds, heavier objects require assistance
  • Ability to adhere to safety policies
  • Must be able to use computer to enter data
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must have working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos and instructions)
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, use simple math to perform basic calculations and use basic hand held measuring tools
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years Machine Experience (lathe, drill press, vertical mill etc.)

  • Certification from Technical School a plus

Responsibilities
