Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a manual machinist.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of machining techniques and materials.
Ability to operate manual lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
Skilled in measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Strong attention to detail and precision.
Good problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical stamina and dexterity for handling heavy materials.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if needed.

Responsibilities

Operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate and modify metal and plastic parts.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations.
Set up and adjust machine tools to ensure optimal performance and precision.
Measure and verify dimensions of finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Select appropriate materials and tools based on the specifications and requirements of each project.
Ensure quality control by conducting inspections and tests on machined parts.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
Document and report any equipment malfunctions or production anomalies to supervisors.
Continuously improve machining processes by suggesting and implementing enhancements.
