About The Position

Regal Rexnord Cleveland, home of our Nook Brand is currently hiring a Manual Machinist, Gear Cutter, Hobbing Technician. This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office. The starting pay range is $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience.
  • Ability to interpret and understand verbal and written directions.
  • Mechanically inclined with strong math skills.
  • Ability to read basic measuring devices, including micrometers, and calipers.
  • Working knowledge of surface footage and feed rates and experienced in calculating feeds and speeds.
  • Must successfully complete a blueprint reading course.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate gear hobbing, shaping, and broaching machines in accordance with production schedules and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
  • Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and machine settings to achieve required tolerances and product specifications.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gear checking equipment, and gauges.
  • Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and production efficiency.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machine, tooling, and quality issues and communicate concerns to supervision as needed.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic machine upkeep to ensure equipment reliability and safe operation.
  • Deburr, clean, and prepare finished parts for the next operation or shipment as required.
  • Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports, and job documentation.
  • Verify material and part traceability requirements are met in accordance with ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Utilize overhead cranes, hoists, and material handling equipment safely when moving parts and tooling, where applicable.
  • Work collaboratively with quality, engineering, maintenance, and production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
  • Meet established production goals while maintaining quality and minimizing scrap.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Maintain organization of work area and ensure tools, gauges, and equipment are stored properly and calibrated when required.
