About The Position

Regal Rexnord Cleveland, home of our Nook Brand is currently hiring a Manual Machinist, Gear Cutter, Hobbing Technician. This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office. The starting pay range is $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Requirements

One year certificate from college or technical school preferred.
Minimum 1-3 years' experience.
Ability to interpret and understand verbal and written directions.
Mechanically inclined with strong math skills.
Ability to read basic measuring devices, including micrometers, and calipers.
Working knowledge of surface footage and feed rates and experienced in calculating feeds and speeds.
Must successfully complete a blueprint reading course.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate gear hobbing, shaping, and broaching machines in accordance with production schedules and quality standards.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
Select, install, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and machine settings to achieve required tolerances and product specifications.
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gear checking equipment, and gauges.
Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and production efficiency.
Identify and troubleshoot machine, tooling, and quality issues and communicate concerns to supervision as needed.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic machine upkeep to ensure equipment reliability and safe operation.
Deburr, clean, and prepare finished parts for the next operation or shipment as required.
Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports, and job documentation.
Verify material and part traceability requirements are met in accordance with ISO 9001 quality standards.
Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards to maintain a safe work environment.
Utilize overhead cranes, hoists, and material handling equipment safely when moving parts and tooling, where applicable.
Work collaboratively with quality, engineering, maintenance, and production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes.
Meet established production goals while maintaining quality and minimizing scrap.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.
Maintain organization of work area and ensure tools, gauges, and equipment are stored properly and calibrated when required.
