About The Position

RRD is a leading global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions. This role involves picking or packaging a variety of printed materials or related items using various packing procedures and techniques. The clerk will follow detailed procedures to perform routine packing work, assemble finished products into boxes or containers for shipping, and operate computers with relevant warehouse management software. Responsibilities include placing labels on packages, putting manuals into binders, handling boxes for final product, and ensuring accurate shipping information is attached and packages are shipped according to the specified schedule. The role also involves placing, arranging, marking, sealing, and tagging items, meeting productivity and quality standards, identifying potential issues and involving management for solutions, and participating in continuous training. Tasks may include counting and sorting product items, feeding and stacking printed sheets or other in-process products, loading and unloading materials, and potentially operating industrial trucks or electric hoists. The clerk may also assist with special projects or more complex customer orders and help maintain warehouse security and safety.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of relevant working experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment required
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret job specifications and identifying the correct parts for fulfilling customer orders.
  • Must have very good oral and written communication skills sufficient to explain departmental procedures and/or methods when completing assignments.
  • Basic knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment and general warehouse procedures.
  • Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a higher-level employee.
  • Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Skill in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely.
  • Basic skill in the use of shrink-wrap or strapping equipment’s, manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment.
  • Basic arithmetic to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Must be willing to flex schedule to meet the needs of production, including working overtime or a different shift, if needed.
  • Must be able to use a ladder to pick items or to retrieve boxes or materials.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in continuous training and development of employees and temporary labor.
  • Count and sort various product items.
  • May feed, remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels or other in-process product to and from the equipment in the area assigned.
  • Load and unloads materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • May load materials into trucks and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
  • Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or other device.
  • May occasionally operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • May assist with special projects or more complex customer orders.
  • Assist with maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
