This position is for a Manual / CNC Machinist responsible for performing basic setups and operations to produce parts from engineering prints or sketches. The role requires working from raw stock with minimal assistance, consistently holding tight tolerances, and utilizing various shop equipment. The machinist will also be responsible for setting up, running, and programming NC equipment using macro programming, making simple ultrasonic horn details, reading and understanding blueprints, performing layout work, and using basic math skills including trigonometry. Proficiency with measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers is essential. The role involves setting up, running, and optimizing NC/CNC machine time, cleaning and deburring parts, sharpening cutting tools, performing basic machine maintenance, checking and cleaning filters and coolant tanks, maintaining a clean and safe working area, separating chips for recycling, communicating with the next shift, completing time cards accurately, moving materials, and assisting in training personnel. The machinist may also perform work in other job classifications as needed and consult with the department manager before making decisions that change procedures.
