About The Position

LTC is an interpreting agency looking for contract interpreters in New York City. You will accept appointments on an as needed basis. The ideal interpreter has 3 years of experience interpreting and has experience in a variety of settings, including legal. As an Independent Contractor Interpreter, you will not be an employee of LTC. Rather you will function as an independent contractor, providing language interpretation services on an IRS Form 1099 basis. Candidate must live within commuting distance of Nashville, TN.

Requirements

• Experience with simultaneous interpreting
• Minimum of 1-2 years of interpreting experience required
• Ability to keep accurate records

Nice To Haves

• Interpreting certifications, preferred
• 3 years of experience interpreting
• Experience in a variety of settings, including legal

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site, in-person interpretation.
• Be a liaison using the client’s preferred language
• Accurately interprets appropriate to the setting and audience.
• Comply with all state, local, and federal laws and regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality of medical information, including HIPAA.
