About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of Educational Development, this part-time position plans and facilitates beginner level Mandarin Chinese language instructional sessions. The instructor will meet regularly with the Director of Educational Development, assist students in developing study skills, completing homework, and exploring topics of interest. The role also involves modeling appropriate academic and social behaviors and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Extensive teaching and/or tutoring experience in Mandarin Chinese.
• Ability to work with students of diverse ethnic backgrounds, academic profiles, and skill levels.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must demonstrate responsibility, a desire to help others, discretion, and flexibility.
• Knowledge of academic content and skills.
• Application of such knowledge and tools to help students access material.
• Ability to collect and analyze data to drive future instruction.
• Ability to work independently applying critical thinking skills and problem solving to various situations.

Responsibilities
