About The Position

Animal Tracks Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Managing Veterinarian (MDVM) to lead a thriving small animal practice in Decatur, Alabama. This role is ideal for a veterinarian with 3+ years of companion animal experience who is ready to step into a leadership position. While previous managing experience is not required, the ideal candidate will enjoy mentoring others, leading by example, and fostering a positive, collaborative culture. The practice is moving into a new, state-of-the-art facility, offering an opportunity to shape its future. The Managing Veterinarian will guide the medical direction, support fellow veterinarians, and lead the team through growth, while continuing to practice high-quality medicine alongside an experienced support team and a loyal client base.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
  • Active Alabama veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • 3+ years of companion animal clinical experience
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and assist with larger patients or equipment as needed
