About The Position

This attorney will lead the HCSS legal department, partnering closely with senior leadership to provide practical, business-focused legal guidance while remaining a hands-on individual contributor. The ideal candidate is a versatile legal generalist with strong experience supporting transactional SaaS offerings, including commercial agreements, customer negotiations, product counseling, and related corporate and compliance matters, and will exercise sound independent judgment to assess risk, make decisions, and deliver clear, actionable advice.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of experience
  • J.D. is required
  • Make independent decisions consistent with the company and Nemetschek Group policies, guidelines and practices
  • Tackle unknown or new subjects with efficiency
  • Have extensive contract knowledge in a variety of situations with ability to identify, analyze, and mitigate business risks existing in contracts
  • Have a solid foundation of contract principles and requirements
  • Strong negotiation skills in SaaS, licensing, or professional services agreements
  • Can effectively listen and understand business requirements and articulate into a working legal document
  • Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team
  • Has excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Organized and take initiative
  • Attention to detail is impeccable

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate contracts with our customers resulting in a positive impact for our customers and internal stakeholders
  • Procurement management, including vendor risk management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop attorneys
  • Lead compliance reporting and management for HCSS
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to support business operations
  • Develop, review, and maintain form contracts and agreements
  • Advise stakeholders on legal and regulatory issues, and work with attorneys/outside counsel to complete agreements
  • Work with various company personnel to identify contractual risks and advise business teams on relevant contractual matters
  • Create and improve templates, agreements, trainings, processes, and other resources
  • Special projects as requested to support the Executive Leadership Team
  • Manage and oversee contract databases / Contract Lifecycle Management system and records to support efficient retrieval and reference, and controls access and organizational structure
  • Issue, upload, and maintain contracts, contract renewals or amendments and other related documents per policy and procedure
  • Advise Human Resources on employment matters and draft HR-related documents and escalating where appropriate
  • Provide product counseling across the business
  • Support corporate growth initiatives by assisting with legal due diligence, coordinating cross-functional teams, and helping with post-closing integration
