New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR) is seeking a managing editor with a track record of fostering ambitious audio journalism to manage and edit Civics 101, a podcast about how our democracy works. The Managing Editor is a key editorial leader, helping build NHPR's capacity for telling thoughtful, deeply reported stories. The ideal candidate recognizes that narrative and explanatory journalism can change minds and empower audiences, thinks carefully about story structure, has an ear for surprising audio, and edits with flair. NHPR is committed to building an inclusive environment and strongly encourages applications from members of communities traditionally underrepresented in journalism. This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid-eligible role, reporting to the Director of Podcasts. Applicants must be willing to live within 100 miles of our newsroom, which is headquartered in Concord, New Hampshire. The budgeted salary range is $77,600 - $95,000 depending on qualifications. We also consider internal equity, among other factors, when deciding compensation.
