About The Position

Telemundo Austin is seeking an experienced Managing Editor/Anchor for its multi-platform Spanish-language newscasts. The successful candidate will possess strong editorial judgment and extensive knowledge of current events, politics, government, and culture. This role is responsible for the editorial content of daily newscasts and digital platforms, including approving scripts and writing stories, headlines, teases, and news updates in a professional, engaging, fair, and accurate style. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish are crucial for broadcast and digital platforms. The Managing Editor/Anchor must demonstrate strong leadership, team-building abilities, and the capacity to guide editorial decisions across all platforms. This is not an entry-level position, and candidates must be able to work under deadline pressure, maintain a flexible schedule, and be available for community and station appearances.

Requirements

At least 3 years of on-air experience in a Spanish language newsroom, preferably with management duties
Commitment to journalistic standards of ethics and accuracy
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and viewers
Exceptional written communications skills on digital, social media and broadcast
Strong editorial judgment and a proven ethical foundation
Impeccable editorial judgment
Wide-ranging knowledge of current events, politics, government and culture
