About The Position

FTI Consulting is seeking a Managing Director for their Corporate Finance practice. This role focuses on addressing clients' strategic, operational, financial, and capital needs by tackling financial and transactional challenges for corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies, and other stakeholders. The position involves both client engagement execution and practice development responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a business-related major or economics.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience working in financial management consulting or a mix of corporate finance and accounting and consulting roles.
  • Job requires travel to clients and to the FTI office.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) certification or MBA is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with business intelligence or data analytics tools is preferred but not required.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Excel and strong ability to develop financial models with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior level executives.
  • Qualified candidates will view themselves as having superior leadership and technical skills, excellent project management and communication skills, as well as a sense of urgency and drive to help FTI service its clients.
  • Strong track record of delivery with strong reputation as a reliable consultant with a CFO advisory background, and an ability to meet clients’ needs with great attention to detail.

  • A change agent who is able to point to a strong track record of delivery in organizations where they led similar business advisory engagement teams and has an engaging, energizing and collaborative personal style.

Responsibilities

  • Support Senior Managing Directors in building and growing the practice, including developing knowledge management resources like tools, methodologies, reports, models, work plans, checklists, and processes.
  • Perform high-quality client work and develop client relationships for CFO advisory service assignments, proactively anticipating client needs.
  • Assist with practice development and marketing efforts, including creating materials, surveys, events, and case studies.
  • Participate in writing thought leadership pieces relevant to CFOs and the OCFO practice.
