Managing Director, Development is responsible for cultivating, stewarding, and managing a portfolio of donors in local communities who share a commitment to ensuring that all children have access to an equitable and excellent education. This role is part of a team-based effort charged with developing and executing on a long-term vision and strategy to achieve development goals for both public and private funding. The position partners with Executive Directors, regional advisory board members, and other front-line fundraisers to maximize giving, playing a key role in new donor strategy and acquisition over the next 3-5 years. Reporting to the Senior Managing Director, Development, this role partners closely to set the vision for and execute strategies that generate $3M+ annually toward an $8M+ team goal. The individual will manage a portfolio of donors with the capacity and/or demonstrated history of giving $10,000+ annually, with an emphasis on securing increased 5- and 6-figure gifts. The role works directly with the Executive Director to cultivate and steward the portfolio of donors, and in some circumstances, may also be the primary solicitor. The ideal candidate is a specialist in fundraising and development who, in partnership with the local Executive Director and the VP, Field Fundraising, can independently develop and execute the strategy to acquire, cultivate, retain, and diversify their portfolio of donors (including public and private donors).
