About The Position

The Symicor Group is a boutique talent acquisition firm specializing in banking and accounting talent. This position is for a Managing Director - Credit Risk Review with a bank client in the Tampa, FL market. The role involves conducting timely and independent assessments of the bank's credit exposures and credit risk, with results reported to senior management and the Risk Committee of the Board of Directors. The position requires a deep understanding of commercial lending and credit risk practices to provide insights and recommendations for effective credit risk management. The role also involves analyzing file review activities, executing complex credit assessments, correlating industry trends, analyzing credit facility structures and underwriting processes, validating risk ratings, and managing credit portfolios. The candidate will also assess the risk organization's sufficiency, identify risk concentrations, and follow up on exam findings.

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of Credit Risk/Credit Underwriting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct timely and independent assessments of the bank's credit exposures and credit risk.
  • Provide independent assessments of commercial credit exposures.
  • Manage Reviewers, perform credit portfolio analysis, and summarize results from credit file reviews.
  • Analyze file review activities for assigned business segments.
  • Execute file review assessments on complex credit and credit-related transactions.
  • Correlate industry, economic, regulatory, and other trends in the credit cycle.
  • Analyze complex credit facility structures and underwriting processes within the context of credit policies.
  • Validate scorecard risk ratings, testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure understanding of portfolio issues, trends, and root causes to manage credit portfolios effectively.
  • Analyze output to support decisioning.
  • Analyze risk in assigned credit portfolios by reviewing relevant reporting and assessing trends.
  • Provide expert analytical insight and assess the risk organization's sufficiency to identify and manage forward-looking risks.
  • Identify risk concentrations, systemic trends, or issues.
  • Complete work papers, issue tracking, and follow up on exam findings.
  • Participate in continuous monitoring of assigned portfolios.
  • Independently prepare materials and supporting documentation, and conduct meetings with Line of Business representatives.
  • Effectively communicate Credit Risk Review plans and objectives for reviews.
