Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum seven years of related experience required, with knowledge of insurance products and field distribution models.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead/manage others.
  • Effectively coaches and delivers constructive feedback.
  • Ability to inspire and develop staff.
  • Instills commitment to organizational goals.
  • Ability to influence internal and/or external constituents.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Able to assess market conditions, trends and indicators.
  • Strong understanding of local market planning, sales trend analysis, marketing data, financial analysis.
  • Possesses strong product knowledge.
  • Expert knowledge of insurance coverage, pricing, and sales distribution methods.
  • Expert knowledge of agent contracts, compliance requirements, distribution models, company policies and procedures.
  • Broad knowledge of audit, business controls, compliance, and fraud.
  • Demonstrates a high commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills.
  • Ability to travel for business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance designations preferred (CLU, ChFC, FSCP, CPCU).
  • Experience owning the onboarding of new agency owners and staff preferred.
  • Property & Casualty Insurance or Financial Services sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and drives strategic direction through direct managers and their staff to achieve territory and company objectives for markets within assigned geographic area.
  • Develops and proposes sales and other initiatives to support market strategies and objectives.
  • Manages footprint by assessing, planning strategically, and overseeing market presence and agency operations within assigned geographic area.
  • Devises and oversees market segmentation strategies to gain a competitive advantage.
  • Drives business and financial goals within assigned geographic area.
  • Provides direction, coaching, and training to support individual performance and professional development of direct managers.
  • Investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves escalated issues.
  • Fosters strong relationships and communication between the company, district managers and agency owners.
  • Works to understand district and agent needs, address concerns, and develop long-term partnerships.
  • Collaborates with territory and senior leadership and district managers to appoint the right number of agents to achieve territory goals and fulfill sales plans.
  • Uses technology to evaluate performance metrics and assess the effectiveness of strategic direction.
  • Sets performance targets that align with company goals.
  • Develops action plans to address areas that require attention or adjustment.
  • Uses data and storytelling to prepare and present reports and findings to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
