About The Position

Guidehouse is seeking a Managing Consultant to support Federal Civilian Agency clients. This role focuses on enterprise risk management, internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness. The consultant will lead workstreams, support OMB Circular A-123 requirements, analyze risks, and coordinate with various stakeholders to enhance risk management practices and deliver high-quality analytical products.

Requirements

  • Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust; Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen due to nature of client engagements.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of consulting, audit, risk management, internal controls, compliance, or federal delivery experience.
  • Experience supporting OMB Circular A-123, internal control assessments, audit readiness, corrective action validation, or oversight response activities.
  • Strong understanding of federal risk management, audit support, compliance documentation, and evidence management practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, accurate, and audit-ready deliverables for client review.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification or other relevant credential, such as CIA, CISA, CGFM, CFE, or PMP.
  • Experience supporting Federal Civilian Agency clients, including the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
  • Experience with grant oversight, financial reporting support, data reconciliation, or corrective action management.
  • Familiarity with federal oversight entities, including OIG, GAO, financial statement audit teams, or agency OCFO organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead workstreams supporting a Federal Civilian Agency client across enterprise risk management, internal controls, audit readiness, compliance, and oversight response activities.
  • Support OMB Circular A-123 internal control documentation, testing readiness, evidence validation, corrective action tracking, and audit response packages.
  • Analyze operational, financial, and compliance risks; develop risk summaries, issue logs, management briefings, and defensible work products traceable to source documentation.
  • Coordinate with program, financial, data, and compliance stakeholders to strengthen risk management practices, improve process documentation, and support timely delivery of high-quality analytical and reporting products.
