Managing Attorney, Long Island

Safe Passage ProjectLong Island City, NY
$128,000 - $140,000Hybrid

About The Position

Safe Passage Project (SPP) is a nonprofit immigration legal services organization dedicated to providing free legal representation to immigrant children facing deportation. Founded in 2013, SPP has grown significantly, managing over 1,600 cases annually with a team of over 60 employees across two offices and an annual budget exceeding $10 million. The organization serves young people in NYC and Long Island, addressing the critical need for legal representation as immigrant children are not guaranteed government-funded legal aid. SPP aims to improve outcomes for these vulnerable children, who often flee trauma in their home countries. The organization achieves this by directly representing immigrant youth through its staff attorneys and by training, mentoring, and supervising a robust network of pro bono attorneys. The Managing Attorney, Long Island will play a crucial role in this mission, leading the Long Island-based legal team to provide essential legal services to children seeking safety and security in the U.S.
