About The Position

Responsible for supporting Actuarial Management. The role involves supporting and analyzing activities related to the Direct Pay, Local Group and National Accounts Market Segment and all lines of business. Key functions include maintenance and improvement of Actuarial analyses such as trend setting, gross margin reporting, and financial forecasting, as well as rate analysis and development. The Managing Actuary will also serve as an active participant in cross-functional workgroups, perform forecast/variance analysis and reporting, and provide product development and segmentation support.

Requirements

  • 4+ years related work experience
  • Successful, progressive professional work experience in an Actuarial field
  • Related Bachelor's degree required Math/Statistics or related degree
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
  • Ability to communicate and present detailed business and financial strategic information in a clear and concise way to all levels of management

Nice To Haves

  • Background in health field or insurance field
  • SAS, R and/or SQL experience
  • Familiarity with programming languages
  • PC software (spreadsheets, graphics, word processors)
  • Independently managing projects and/or people
  • Innovation and process improvement
