About The Position
Responsible for supporting Actuarial Management. The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned. This role involves supporting and analyzing activities related to the Government Markets (ACA and Medicare) and Commercial Markets (Small/Mid/Large Group and ASO). It includes the maintenance and improvement of Actuarial analyses such as trend setting, gross margin reporting, and financial forecasting, as well as rate analysis and development. The position requires Actuarial representation on cross-functional workgroups as an active participant, forecast/variance analysis and reporting, product development support, and segmentation support.
Requirements
- 4+ years related work experience in an Actuarial field
- Related Bachelor's degree required (Math/Statistics or related degree)
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)
- Ability to communicate and present detailed business and financial strategic information in a clear and concise way to all levels of management
Nice To Haves
- Background in health field or insurance field
- SAS, R and/or SQL experience
- Familiarity with programming languages
- PC software (spreadsheets, graphics, word processors)
- Independently managing projects and/or people
- Innovation and process improvement
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
