About The Position

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Manager to join our team! The Medical Surgical manager directs oversight of daily operations to ensure productivity and efficiency. Responsibilities include operational and capital budgets, quality control and improvement, program development and departmental education. Responsible for maintaining relationships with management, other hospital department managers, and contracted/consulting providers. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Idaho.
• Current BLS.
• ACLS, PALS, and Basic Dysrhythmia within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• 3 years acute care nursing experience, with 2 years progressive management experience.
• Med Surg or critical care backgrounds.
• Comparable management experience may be substituted at the Director of Nursing’s discretion.

Responsibilities

• Able to effectively perform the duties of all supervised registered nursing roles in the department.
• Ensures appropriate staffing for optimal unit efficiency and patient care.
• Provide direct oversight for all MedSurg leadership to ensure optimal productivity and safe patient care.
• Create, complete, and report on quality and performance measures and other facility driven initiatives.
• Create, interpret, and champion hospital and department policies, procedures, and processes in conjunction with interdisciplinary team.
• Ensure quality of care and performance standards are met while providing a safe and effective patient and staff environment.
• Responsible for interdepartmental and interdisciplinary coordination related to the Med Surg unit.
• Monitor department measures on a regular basis to evaluate important clinical and financial data points.
• Responsible for annual operational departmental budget, taking into consideration historical data, quality measures, and hospital and unit goals.
• Investigate capital budget requests from physicians or staff. Determine the appropriate equipment, vendors, and price in conjunction with administration and procurement services.
