About The Position

This position supports Mercy’s philosophy of patient centered care by overseeing all technical and operational items associated with the management of the Women's Center. Responsibilities will also include performing Mammograms as needed.

  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Required to be registered in A.R.R.T. (American Registry or Radiology Technologist) and Mammography and certified by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH).
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support, in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
  • Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse & Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.
  • Employee must submit certification of completed training to Human Resources prior to start or transfer date.

Responsibilities

  • Fosters a culture of accountability, creativity, critical thinking and staff development.
  • Prepares or provides input for department business plan.
  • Identifies quality improvement opportunities based on quality metrics.
  • Performs mammograms when needed.
  • Overseas operations of the Women's Center in the absence of the Director.
  • Provides supervision and technical expertise to the staff.
  • Interviews and makes recommendations for hiring staff.
  • Responsible for employee performance and development.
  • Oversees and facilitates all processes associated with patient flow.
  • Ensures efficiency and productivity within the department.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory mandates.
  • Assists with capital and operating budget on an annual basis.
  • Identifies and assists with opportunities for performance improvement activities within the department and with other service areas.
  • Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by taking ownership of time management, decreasing waste (of time and supplies) and promoting cost effectiveness while maintaining patient safety and quality of care.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude, personal initiative and motivation to achieve the goals of the unit.
  • Fulfills requirements of attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping practices.
  • Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job- specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.
