About The Position

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Land Management and Conservation, this role participates in the development of both short and long-range wildlife management goals, research projects, and controlled hunts. The position is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the successful completion of assigned projects within predetermined guidelines. Familiarity with the principles and procedures of wildlife management and research is essential. The role involves extensive contact with a variety of public individuals and groups and is responsible for implementing wildlife programs for tribal members. Duties include conducting audio and visual wildlife surveys (day/night), and may involve planting food plots, mowing, building/repairing fences, road maintenance, and controlling or eliminating nuisance species.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university; or six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in a related field.
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.

  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) safety course within six (6) months of employment.
  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
