About The Position

The Manager Warehouse and Logistics is responsible for coordinating all activities of Warehouse Distribution Operations necessary to support the Distribution Sales Center. This role involves carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems to build positive associate morale. The position also coordinates warehouse distribution, loading, shipping functions, inventory control, finance, facility management, safety, and partnerships with various internal and external teams. It includes managing internal and external logistics operations, reviewing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs, analyzing key performance indicators, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, establishing goals, and assisting with budget preparation. The role also involves training associates on safety regulations and maintaining an open-door policy to interact with associates.

Requirements

• Minimum age 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
• Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
• Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
• Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
• Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university; or 3 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to show business acumen and customer service skills
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required

Responsibilities

• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
• Interview, hire, and train associates
• Plan, assign, and direct work
• Appraise performance
• Address complaints and resolve problems
• Builds positive associate morale
• Coordinates all warehouse distribution, loading, shipping functions, inventory control, finance, facility management, safety, and partnership with manufacturing, quality assurance, transportation, fleet, demand planning, and innovation, and sales teams
• Managing internal and external logistics operations for transportation demands
• Reviews processes and metrics to improve warehouse operations efficiencies and reduce cost
• Manages and maintains responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of subordinate managers and supervisors who manage associates
• Analyzes key performance indicators and develops new ones for the manufacturing and distribution operations to improve efficiencies
• Ensure team follows DOT regulations and policies
• Responsible for establishing long-term and short-term goals and assists in the preparation process for Capex and operation budgets
• Train associates on OSHA, environmental monthly trainings and ensure regulations are being met
• Maintains an open-door policy and spends time talking with associates at their job on a regular basis
• Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
