Manager, Vehicle Maintenance
About The Position
BCRTA is one of Ohio's fastest-growing transit agencies, delivering over 820,000 rides last year and expanding service, modernizing its fleet, and rethinking public maintenance operations. This is a builder's role for a Maintenance Manager looking to grow with the agency and make a significant impact on a forward-moving shop. The role involves managing the day-to-day operations of a vehicle maintenance depot, including the fleet, equipment, and a team of technicians. Responsibilities include setting schedules, planning and tracking work, developing staff, and ensuring all buses are safe and ready for service. The manager will also be instrumental in running a modern shop, utilizing tools like HRIS for scheduling, a work order management system for labor tracking, and digital timekeeping. A proactive approach to data, scheduling, and performance dashboards is highly valued.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of hands-on vehicle maintenance experience.
- Proven leadership ability: skill to motivate a team, hold people accountable fairly, and develop a high-performing crew.
- Positive, solutions-first attitude.
- Comfort with computerized maintenance management, scheduling, and work order systems, or the drive to master them quickly.
- High school diploma required.
- Ability to obtain a CDL with appropriate endorsements.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical qualification standards for this safety-sensitive position.
