About The Position

Insulet is seeking a highly collaborative and operationally focused Manager, User Experience & Design Operations to lead UX delivery and DesignOps practices supporting the Omnipod® 5 sustaining business. This role is responsible for managing a team of UX designers and researchers while establishing the processes, governance, tools, metrics, and operating models that enable efficient delivery of customer-centered experiences across post-market product enhancements, maintenance releases, regulatory commitments, quality improvements, and business-critical initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership with operational excellence, ensuring that UX resources are aligned to business priorities while maintaining a consistent, high-quality user experience across the Omnipod ecosystem. This leader will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Customer Care, and Marketing teams to drive scalable and efficient UX practices that improve both customer outcomes and organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Psychology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
8+ years of experience in UX Design, UX Research, Service Design, Design Operations, or related disciplines.
3+ years of people leadership experience managing UX teams.
Experience building or scaling Design Operations practices.
Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives within complex organizations.
Strong understanding of UX methodologies, research practices, design systems, accessibility, and customer-centered design.
Demonstrated expertise with resource planning, prioritization, operational management, and process improvement.

Nice To Haves

Experience in healthcare, medical devices, digital health, or other regulated industries.
Experience supporting sustaining or post-market product development.
Experience implementing UX metrics and operational performance measurement frameworks.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of UX designers and researchers supporting the Omnipod 5 sustaining portfolio.
Own and continuously improve the UX operating model for the Omnipod 5 sustaining business.
Establish scalable processes for UX intake, prioritization, resource allocation, capacity planning, and roadmap alignment.
Develop and maintain operational frameworks that increase delivery predictability and team effectiveness.
Drive standardization of UX workflows, tools, templates, documentation, and governance.
Create and manage UX performance metrics and dashboards that demonstrate operational health and business impact.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce inefficiencies, rework, and delivery bottlenecks.
Partner with Product Management and Engineering leadership to align UX work with business priorities and release plans.
Manage UX capacity forecasting, quarterly planning, and portfolio prioritization activities.
Facilitate planning discussions to balance customer needs, business value, technical constraints, and regulatory commitments.
Provide visibility into UX resource allocation, dependencies, risks, and delivery forecasts.
Establish governance mechanisms that enable informed decision-making and prioritization.
Define and evolve effective engagement models between UX and its cross-functional partners.
Ensure UX processes and deliverables support medical device quality system requirements.
Partner with Quality and Regulatory Affairs teams to maintain necessary usability, human factors, and design documentation.
Support audits, submissions, post-market activities, and risk mitigation efforts.
Establish repeatable workflows that balance innovation, efficiency, compliance, and customer experience.
