About The Position

We are seeking a Proposal Manager to join our Crushing Service Products Business Line team. In this role, you will lead a global team of three Proposal Engineers based in Brookfield and Tampere and be responsible for the end-to-end preparation of classic capital equipment and crusher upgrade proposals, while also taking direct ownership of selected strategic opportunities. Working closely with Sales, Market Areas, Segments, Product Groups, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Sourcing and other stakeholders, you will ensure the timely delivery of high-quality proposals with clear scope definitions, accurate pricing and reliable lead times. You will play a key role in delivering proposals that support customer success, drive CSP's profitable growth and serve as a solid basis for successful project execution, all in line with Metso's established processes and governance.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in proposal management, project management, engineering, sales support or commercial roles related to mining, mechanical equipment, capital equipment or aftermarket solutions.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Mining, Business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience leading, coordinating or mentoring proposal, project, engineering or commercial teams in a cross-functional environment.
Proven ability to lead and develop teams, drive accountability and deliver results through others.
Strong hands-on proposal experience, including RFQ review, scope definition, stakeholder coordination, cost estimation, pricing, approvals and bid submission.
Knowledge and understanding of crushing equipment, crusher upgrades, mining products and related technical and commercial proposal requirements.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams and drive decisions without direct authority.
Experience with Salesforce and SAP, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, technical documentation, contractual requirements and industry terminology.
Highly organized, accountable and capable of managing multiple priorities, supporting teams and delivering accurate results under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach and develop a team of three Proposal Engineers by setting priorities, balancing workload, building capability and ensuring timely, high-quality proposal delivery.
Take full ownership of selected proposals from RFQ review through final submission and handover to execution, ensuring commercially competitive, technically sound and compliant offers.
Own the proposal management process from RFQ receipt through proposal submission and handover of won cases to the project execution team, ensuring compliance with governance requirements, documentation standards, reporting obligations and system updates.
Establish and maintain proposal governance, standards, templates and best practices, ensuring compliance with Metso commercial, contractual, legal, technical and risk management requirements.
Develop, standardize and continuously improve cost calculation and pricing methodologies for upgrade proposals.
Drive bid/no-bid decisions, proposal strategies, risk assessments and value proposition development in collaboration with Market Areas, BL Segment Heads, Product Sales Support, Product Groups and other key stakeholders.
Work jointly with Segments, Product Groups, Engineering, Project Execution, Sourcing and external vendors to build offers that are technically sound and competitively priced.
Lead proposal risk assessments and firm offer approval processes while supporting sales teams in securing customer orders.
Build strong partnerships with Sales and Market Areas, providing transparency on progress, timelines and ownership while reducing handovers and improving responsiveness.
Develop the capabilities of both the proposal team and partner organizations through coaching, training and structured knowledge sharing.
Continuously improve processes, tools and ways of working to reduce response times while maintaining quality and compliance.
Support and train Market Area Proposal Management, participate in Proposal Management development initiatives and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
