About The Position

The Manager, Trust & Investment Services is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the operations of the department. This role assists in product development, enhancements, and maintaining relationships with team members, branches, and the educational community. The position ensures the delivery of superior Member service and products. The Manager accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. They also accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances. This role ensures compliance with state and federal laws and other applicable regulations. The Manager provides daily support to staff, including answering questions and problem resolution, and offers training, coaching, and counseling to team members to develop the team and maintain the credit union’s primary focus on Member Service. They understand the credit union organizational goals and key performance indicators and take necessary actions to achieve desired results. The Manager evaluates operating procedures and policies, ensuring the highest levels of Member service, productivity, and internal control. They provide consultative services to Members regarding credit union products and services and ensure team members do the same by assessing Member needs, addressing concerns, and gaining agreement. The Manager maintains thorough knowledge of retirement products, including all IRA products, 457(b), 403(b), State Teachers Retirement, and Public Employees Retirement System. They maintain NASD Series 7, 63, 65, and 24 licenses and California Department of Insurance Licenses. They also maintain relationships with third-party contractors and partners, including insurance general agencies and broker/dealers. The role involves replying to Members via written correspondence, responding to Member comments or suggestions, and assisting Members in person and over the phone. The Manager oversees compliance with NASD requirements and handles complex and non-routine inquiries from branches/departments and Members. They are responsible for personal production determined by the VP and provide guidance and coaching to financial consultants. The Manager analyzes and makes recommendations regarding any changes or updates in NASD regulations, forms, methods, and systems, and directs their implementation. Additional functions include contributing to organizational goals as a member of the Management team, establishing and implementing plans with short-term impact, initiating, researching, coordinating, and implementing department or division projects, and performing other duties as assigned. Compliance with regulatory requirements, including BSA, is mandatory.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience required
  • 5-7 years of prior functional experience required
  • 1-3 years of prior management experience required
  • Maintains NASD Series 7, 63, 65 and 24 licenses and California Department of Insurance Licenses required

  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Complying with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties.
