About The Position

The Manager, Truck Shop & Construction is responsible for leading all Truck Shop and Construction Service activities at the Fort McMurray 63N Branch. This role is accountable for safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of maintenance, repair, erecting, and assembly services for mining and construction equipment in the Oil Sands region. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong operational discipline, technical credibility, and the ability to lead large, diverse teams in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment. The Manager balances proactive planning with rapid response to evolving customer and operational needs while upholding company values, safety standards, and service excellence.

Requirements

  • Proven success leading large, diverse teams in both shop and field environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of heavy equipment and service operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute complex work.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budget and cost management.
  • Experience operating in fast‑paced, high‑pressure operational environments.

Nice To Haves

  • The ideal candidate will bring prior leadership experience in the mining or construction industry and either an Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or a strong technical background in the trades.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all Truck Shop and Construction service operations, ensuring work is completed safely, productively, and profitably.
  • Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OHSE requirements, company policies, regulatory standards, and customer agreements.
  • Set clear objectives, targets, and performance expectations; monitor results and ensure consistent delivery against commitments.
  • Provide leadership to a large, diverse workforce across shop and field environments, including coaching, performance management, engagement, and labour relations.
  • Oversee departmental budgets and financial performance, including revenue, expenses, warranty, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Manage and optimize departmental assets and resources, including people, equipment, facilities, tools, and technology.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and internal partners to deliver service excellence.
  • Collaborate with branch and regional leadership to support broader business objectives and continuous improvement.
  • Champion organizational values, ethics, professionalism, and brand standards through visible leadership behaviours.
  • Provide 24/7 on‑call leadership support for customer and dealership needs.
