About The Position

Walmart is seeking a Manager, Travel to oversee corporate travel operations and vendor relationships. This role involves managing travel programs, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective solutions aligned with company objectives. The Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize travel policies and enhance service delivery while maintaining accountability and adaptability in a dynamic environment. Strong financial planning and customer service skills are essential to support seamless travel experiences and vendor performance. This position requires proven management capabilities to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence within the travel function. The team supports Procurement and Travel Operations, focusing on maximizing savings and value for Walmart Global Enterprise. It collaborates with leading travel suppliers, applying strategic sourcing and negotiation to secure optimal contracts. Engaging with global suppliers and internal stakeholders, the team develops and executes comprehensive supplier strategies. Reporting to senior leadership, it drives cost efficiencies and risk mitigation while maintaining strong supplier relationships. This group plays a key role in advancing operational excellence and supporting Walmart’s success through data-driven insights and strategic partnership management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in vendor management and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Expertise in corporate travel management and related operational processes.
  • Strong financial planning and negotiation skills to optimize travel budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Commitment to accountability and delivering high-quality customer service.
  • Adaptability to changing business needs and travel industry dynamics.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate complex travel arrangements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field and 2 years’ experience in travel management, customer service, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in travel management, customer service, or related area.

  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to optimize travel services and pricing.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align travel strategies with business objectives.
  • Monitor travel budgets, analyze expenditures, and implement financial planning measures.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance traveler experience and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely resolution of travel-related issues while maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights on travel program performance to senior management.
