About The Position

Hertz Local Edition is hiring a Manager Trainee for its local rental branch team. This hands-on position provides structured training and real-world experience in running a rental location while delivering a positive customer experience and supporting daily branch operations. The role is intended to prepare the trainee for potential promotion to Branch Manager in as little as 12–18 months. The wage is $19.00 per hour plus incentives, which vary based on job performance. The position is located at 750 S Main St, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.

Requirements

• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong communication, computer, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Self-motivated and adaptable, with an interest in learning the business and growing into leadership.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
• Professional appearance and reliable attendance.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service, sales, retail, hospitality, or other professional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn the rental car business through hands-on training in sales, customer service, operations, fleet logistics, and administration.
• Support branch sales goals by building customer relationships, identifying customer needs, and applying effective sales techniques.
• Help customers through the rental process and resolve questions or concerns professionally.
• Assist with daily branch operations, including fleet inventory, vehicle preparation, lot organization, documentation, and compliance tasks.
• Partner with branch leadership to learn about scheduling, team communication, performance coaching, and business metrics.
• Build skills for future leadership opportunities within Hertz.
