About The Position

Budget is seeking a dynamic Manager Trainee for its Kansas City team. This program offers hands-on experience to prepare individuals for leading a standalone store or overseeing airport operations. Trainees will be exposed to all aspects of the business, including customer interaction, sales, vehicle inspection, inventory management, client relations, car detailing, and facility maintenance. This is a full-time position with a 5-day workweek, designed to launch a professional career in operations and leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • A clean driving record in the last 3 years (some exceptions apply)
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Team up with managers to keep rental agencies humming and handle big-picture operations.
  • Keep an eye on operational departments to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Monitor fleet and inventory flow to match customer demands and keep reservations on track.
  • Master the counter system: Open and close rental contracts, tweak details, print manifests, and more.
  • Help track daily inventory—both hands-on and digital—to stay ahead of the game.
  • Boost sales by promoting add-ons like extra insurance, GPS, or vehicle upgrades.
  • Handle opening and closing routines, including security protocols.
  • Tackle office essentials: Answer calls, order supplies, photocopy, and field everyday questions.
  • Whip up reports and log daily wins.
  • Solve customer issues—like explaining charges, handling vehicle issues, or giving directions—with a smile.
  • Foster a collaborative vibe by jumping in to help fellow agents, nearby locations, or other teams when needed.
  • Get involved in coaching and mentoring your crew to build skills and keep motivation high.
  • Step up to assist with training, supervising, and inspiring team members to crush goals together.
