About The Position

Provides day-to-day leadership, guidance, quality control and support of Goodwill Construction Skills Training programs and facility. Manages quality services provided, program success and outcomes, Safety and Security, as well as relationships with training partners, community partners, Career Navigators, and the Employer Engagement Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Construction Management, Business or related field and five years of increasingly responsible management experience in Trade Industry Adult Education; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Construction Industry Adult Education.
  • Valid Driver's License (Class C), car insurance and reliable automobile and safe driving record (as determined by the Agency's insurance carrier) required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day leadership, supervision and operational support required to achieve annual departmental performance objectives.
  • Interfaces with internal teams of all phases of the intake process and career continuum to assist participants seeking services.
  • Updates Standard Operating Procedures, activities and a succession plan for the Goodwill Trade School team.
  • Remains current on best practices, trends and opportunities in the construction industry.
  • Makes connections between internal research, workforce data and impact, best practices and organizational needs to develop effective solutions. Analyzes service delivery data and monitors service outcomes.

  • Communicates strategic direction of Goodwill Construction Skills Training Center operations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures program meets National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) requirements to qualify as a Training Unit. Audits NCCER performance profiles for signatures and dates.
  • Assists Trade School Leadership with networking with local companies and subject matter experts to establish a base of qualified instructors who are able to train current industry needs. Provides direction to instructors regarding daily responsibilities.
  • Participates in strategic planning and needs assessment/research activities to build Goodwill Construction Skills programs that supports and accomplishes the organization’s mission; and utilizes technology to improve processes, engage participants and improve accessibility to learning while driving training outcomes.
  • Assesses and enhances engaging and relevant training, consults with management to analyze efficiency and effectiveness and works with Director to identify recommended changes.
  • Oversees data collection, monitors outcomes as well as appropriate budget information, uses data analytics to identify trends and opportunities and maintains appropriate data and reports as appropriate.
  • Directly supervises Trade School Training Coordinator, Support Specialist, Instructors, Teaching Assistants, Trade School Navigator, and Trade School Training Program Experience Coordinator. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; coaching and mentoring; addressing complaints and resolving problems; participating in budget development and management.
  • Serves on organizational, divisional, and community teams and projects as needed.
