About The Position

The Manager, Total Rewards & HR Operations position is a Full time, Regular position. This role is responsible for assessing the organization’s pay structure for Puerto Rico and the United States, conducting research on compensation trends, and reviewing surveys to determine how the organization's pay compares with others in the industry and region. The position involves analyzing compensation data, monitoring program effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. It also includes managing job classification processes, developing job evaluation systems, and administering incentive and performance plans. Additionally, the role serves as the compensation lead for Workday projects, communicates compensation and benefits information, and provides training to HR teams. The Manager will oversee the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs, evaluate and select benefits providers, and manage health and welfare, retirement, and leave of absence programs. Collaboration with HR on engagement and retention programs, and support with other benefit administration duties are also key aspects. The role requires protecting confidential information, ensuring data privacy compliance, and adhering to company standards and applicable laws. Other duties may be assigned as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in total rewards, compensation, and benefits management.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and managing compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, health and welfare plans, and retirement programs.
  • Proven expertise in conducting market benchmarking, compensation analysis, job evaluation, and salary survey reviews.
  • In-depth knowledge of compensation principles and benefits administration, including extensive knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding compensation practices and legislation.
  • Hands-on experience with HR technology platforms, including Workday or similar HRIS systems, for compensation, benefits, and HR operations management.
  • Previous experience in compensation administration, with the ability to provide guidance and training to HR teams and business leaders on compensation programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and strategic thinking skills, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills, with outstanding interpersonal and collaboration abilities to effectively partner with senior leadership, HR teams, and employees.
  • Ability to coordinate and integrate activities, resources, and teams effectively, while managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Quick learner, detail-oriented, and demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively, maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism in handling employee and organizational information.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, organize work effectively, and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office products (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Bilingual (writing, conversational and reading comprehension in English and Spanish).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in HR, Compensation & Benefits, or Business Administration.
  • 1 to 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing the organization’s pay structure for Puerto Rico and United States.
  • Conducting research on compensation trends and reviewing surveys to determine how the organization's pay compares with other organizations in a particular industry and region.
  • Analyzing compensation data, trends, and metrics to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommending changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and objectives.
  • Ensuring that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations.
  • Collaborating with People in the analysis and review of job classification and reclassification requests, quality controlling the job classification process for both existing positions and newly created positions, performing job audits, as appropriate.
  • Developing and maintaining a job evaluation and grading system to ensure consistency in job classifications and compensation levels.
  • Assisting and collaborating in the planning, coordination, facilitation, administration, and reporting of the annual salary review program for all employees.
  • Administering the company’s incentives and performance plans.
  • Serving as the compensation lead for all Workday projects, improvements, and initiatives.
  • Communicating compensation and benefits policies, programs, and changes to employees effectively.
  • Providing training and instruction to all People department units in the day-to-day application of compensation programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Overseeing the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Evaluating and selecting benefits providers, negotiating contracts, and managing relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
  • Owning and managing the employee health and welfare, retirement, and leave of absence benefit programs in compliance with carrier contracts for the purpose of providing maximum coverage to active and retired employees within contract specifications.
  • Collaborating with HR to design and implement programs that enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Supporting with other benefit plan administration duties, as needed.
  • Assisting in the development, writing, editing, and modification of operating policies, guidelines, and procedures, as appropriate.
  • Protecting organization’s value and HR operations by keeping confidential information.
  • Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
  • Complying fully and consistently with the Company's standards, policies, and procedures and the local and federal laws applicable to our industry, business, and employment practices.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned, in accordance with the education and experience requirements.
